About the opportunity
This position provides the successful applicant with an opportunity to work under a delegated model of care providing high levels of care and support to patients of the Charters Towers hospital and wider community. Working with the Allied Health Team that consists of Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Podiatry, Pharmacy and Dietetics, you will deliver goal-oriented therapeutic interventions to support enhanced patient functional and lifestyle outcomes.

PLEASE NOTE - This is a Fixed Term Temporary full-time role, commencing 20/07/2026 - 21/10/2026, with a possible extension not exceeding 12 months.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $2916.00 - $3118.00 p.f. (CA4)
- 4 weeks (pro rata) annual leave with 17.5% loading
- Locality allowance
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- A Certificate IV – Allied Health Assistant or equivalent is required for this position. Evidence of any qualifications must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of duties.
- If Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent has not been completed, then appointment will be at CA3 classification in the Allied Health Assistant position until successful completion of the qualifications. It is expected that the successful applicant complete the required qualifications within 24 months of employment.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a manual and automatic vehicle, and a C licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
