The Clinical Nurse – Clinical Trials Coordinator is an advanced clinical nursing role responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of interventional clinical trials within the Clinical Trials Multispecialty unit at the Townsville Institute of Health Research and Innovation. The role involves the clinical management of trial participants with complex care needs and requires advanced clinical knowledge, strong problem-solving ability, and highly developed planning and coordination skills. The Clinical Trials Coordinator manages a portfolio of multiple concurrent interventional studies ensuring that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with study protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining high standards of patient safety, data quality, and clinical care. The position works collaboratively with investigators, multidisciplinary clinical teams, sponsors, and research support services to facilitate the safe, ethical, and efficient conduct of clinical trials.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $57.48 to $61.55 p.h. (NG6-1)
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel by aircraft to study meeting locations in Australia and/or internationally for education requirements related to clinical trials operating in the unit. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification: Applicants must have already obtained GCP certification or be prepared to complete immediately upon appointment. GCP certification requires renewal every 3 years.
- Highly Desirable:
- Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Trials, Clinical Research, or a related health discipline.
- Current Intravenous Cannulation/phlebotomy competency.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical trial coordination.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in direct patient care, preferably in multispecialty clinical areas such as respiratory, endocrinology, neurology, cardiology/cardiothoracic, gastroenterology or general medicine.
- Demonstrated clinical experience or credentialing in respiratory, endocrine, or general medicine patient management is highly desirable.
