The Pharmacy Department at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Ordering to join their team.

This is a temporary part-time role up to 28/06/2026, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, with a possibility of an extension up to 12 months.

About your opportunity

Lead and manage the procurement of medications for the Pharmacy Department at Townsville University Hospital. Work co-operatively with all Pharmacy staff to ensure appropriate medication levels are maintained.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary part-time role, up to 28/06/2026, working 60.8 hours per fortnight.  There is a possiblity of an extension up to 12 months.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $38.36 to $41.02 p.h. (CA4)
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • 4  weeks (pro rata) annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • Locality allowance
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47115) or equivalent, including the ‘Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' Module (HLTPA001)
  • If Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support has not been completed, then appointment will be at CA2/CA3 classification in the Pharmacy Assistant Training position or Pharmacy Assistant position until successful completion of the qualifications. It is expected that the successful applicant complete the required qualifications within 24 months of employment.
  • The successful applicant must be at least 18 years of age on the date of appointment.
  • This position may involve the manufacture of aseptic and/or chemotherapeutic pharmaceuticals.
  • This position may include a roster for seven (7)-day extended hours service at The Townsville University Hospital as part of a team of pharmacy staff.
