This role is located within the Infrastructure Maintenance Program (IMP) which delivers multiple project initiative’s while engaging with diverse stakeholder groups across Queensland Health.

Your Opportunity:
As a Project Director, you will be reporting to the Program Director and will be responsible for managing the initiation, planning and successful completion of ICT projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies. Potentially managing several in-flight projects simultaneously, you will deliver successful projects within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards.
A key part of the role will involve initiating, influencing and maintaining productive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, focussing on the management of expectations and effective communication. Additionally, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring utilisation to the best of their potential and mentoring them to develop and build upon skills and improve overall delivery.

Key responsibilities of the Project Director will include:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers, Project Officers, and delivery partners to successfully deliver multiple concurrent project initiatives across facilities statewide, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, governance requirements, and delivery timeframes.
- Oversee and manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of large scale, complex program/project(s) in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.
- Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
- Oversee and manage the monitoring and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules.
- Manage project resources, expenses and capital costs against the project forecasts.
- Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
- Manage capability and resource development by leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary project team(s).
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

This role requires extensive experience leading large scale, complex and high-risk IM/ICT projects throughout the project lifecycle, achieving successful outcomes. You will have high level knowledge and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), which is essential for your success in this role.
Your well-developed negotiation and communication skills will enable you to effectively negotiate and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders across Queensland Health. You will also be experienced in putting together strategies, frameworks and plans to enable informed decision making on project issues.
You will have a proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple multi-disciplinary project teams, driving outputs against agreed budget and project plans.
