About us:
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department offers Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) accredited registrar training as well as experience for Rural Generalists and GP Obstetricians. All trainees are well supported by Consultant staff.
The Department provides maternity care services for approximately 1,350 deliveries annually, through a mixture of Shared Care, Continuity Midwife teams and multidisciplinary High-Risk Clinics. The Maternity Unit is supported by a level four (≥32 weeks) special care nursery. The department also provides level five laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgical services with twelve to fourteen scheduled operating theatre lists per fortnight. There are daily general gynaecology and antenatal clinics, plus urogynaecology and colposcopy services, as well as a community based Indigenous antenatal clinic service. The opportunity also exists for upskilling in obstetric ultrasound.
About the role:
- In consultation with/under the supervision of the Senior Medical Staff within the Department:
- Initiate, maintain and be responsible for the clinical care of patients.
- Assist in the planning of clinical care, including discharge requirements.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of junior medical staff to ensure that appropriate standards of care are maintained, and that junior medical staff are trained to adequately fulfil their duties.
- Support the provision of a high-quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology service under the direction and guidance of the Director, Staff Specialists, and other Senior Medical Staff.
About you:
- You will possess a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent to enable registration with the Medical Board of Australia and an Advanced Life Support certificate
- While not mandatory, the following would be highly regarded:
- Current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two (2) years practice within the Australian healthcare system.
- Neonatal Resuscitation, Foetal Surveillance in addition to Advanced Life Support certificates.
- Demonstrated clinical experience and skills in the provision of clinical services to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Registrar/Principal House Officer level.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $177,890 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $134,489 - $147,585 p.a. (L4-L7)
- A salary rate between $134,489 - $155,125 p.a. (L4-L9)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- Annual leave loading 17.5%
