The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Registrar (Electrophysiology Fellow) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide appropriate evidenced based clinical care in the specialty of Cardiology and Electrophysiology for both inpatients and outpatients
- Participate in the relevant cardiology rosters for EP consults, clinical measurements (Holter/Event Monitor), pacemaker clinic and other associated duties when required
- Supervise training registrars and junior medical staff
- Actively participate in clinical research within the department and undertake own supervised research
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or recognised equivalent qualification
- AHPRA Registration
- Experience in cardiovascular research
- Eligibility for registration in Australia as a specialist in Cardiology.
- Familiarity in acute coronary intervention and participation in an established primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) program.
- Training and experience in cardiac catheterisation as per Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) guidelines.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam completion with a minimum score of seven (for overseas applicants)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $170 214 - $187 569 per annum

The Cardiac Services at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) includes a 20 bed cardiology ward, 6 bed CCU and 3 Cardiac Catheter Suites with one being an Electrophysiology Laboratory and the other 2 being Coronary and Structural Laboratories
