Working in Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service offers unique challenges and diverse clinical experiences. Our nurses and midwives contribute to building a culture of success through the provision of high-quality care, innovation, and professional governance. Within the rural and remote services, Innisfail, Mossman, Atherton, and Mareeba Hospitals provide low to moderately complex inpatient and ambulatory services covering a range of clinical services and all age ranges. Gordonvale, Babinda, and Herberton Hospitals provide low complexity inpatient and ambulatory care services. In addition, there are 10 primary health centres, 10 community health centres and 3 residential mental health facilities. Corrections Qld are also supported with a health facility.
About Us:
The Centralised Intake Service MH CALL (CIS MH CALL) and the Acute Care Team (ACT) work collaboratively as the intake, triage, acute assessment and brief intervention arm of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drug Service (MHAOD).
About your opportunity:
In this position you will:
- Act as a role model for Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and unregulated healthcare workers in the provision of holistic healthcare.
- Participate in developing, evaluating, and updating clinical service procedures, protocols, standards, and guidelines.
- Engage in incident reporting and investigation and conduct and apply quality improvement frameworks and audits and develop risk minimisation strategies/activities to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
- Provide support, guidance, mentoring, preceptorship, role modelling and promote cooperation and collaborative teamwork.
