About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide nursing or midwifery team support and undertake nursing and midwifery care under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse/midwife to support departmental efficiencies and compassionate patient centred care within the Ophthalmology department.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses 35and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 1 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Assist in the provision of nursing and midwifery team support and undertake delegated actions in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) of Australia Decision Making Framework.
- Respond appropriately and report sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/person to the registered nurse/midwife.
- Function in accordance with legislation when undertaking activities as delegated to provide an environment and care that is safe and relevant for individuals and groups.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of Ophthalmology Outpatient Department in the provision of safe quality care.
