About Us:
The Cairns Emergency Department provides services for both paediatric and adult patients from these areas. The Cairns ED receives one of the highest number of retrieval patients (fixed wing and helicopter) in the state, making the acuity and variety of patients incredibly interesting and engaging.
The education offered in the Cairns ED is second to none, daily in-services are provided to all nursing staff, and there are a wide range of training programs run in house to ensure staff receive the best training and have the opportunity to develop their skills.

About You:
- Provide positive leadership to foster team morale, staff retention and a positive workplace culture.
- Act as a leader and role model within the department, fostering a positive workplace culture and inspiring the best in the team.
- In collaboration with the NUM, Nursing Director and Clinical Director, lead and coordinate quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective Health services.
- Accountable for the application of contemporary human resource management principles to ensure that the unit working environment meets legislative standards and Queensland Health policy.
