The Nurse Practitioner works within the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health and the Department of Education) Certified Agreement (EB10) 2018 (Nurses and Midwives EB10). This offers Nurse Practitioners 20% of their employed hours away from direct clinical duties to support them to work to their full scope of practice. This includes, but is not limited to: sharing expert clinical knowledge; participation in or contribution to research, quality improvement and leadership activities.
About your role:
- Demonstrate strong communication, consultation and negotiation skills to engage relevant stakeholders across the service.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate high quality patient care.
- Provide culturally safe and respectful care for First Nations people and demonstrate a deep understanding of the historical and systemic factors that contribute to over representation of First Nations people in the Cairns emergency department. Deliver care in an anti-racist, compassionate and culturally informed manner.
