The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and timely specimen collection, clinical pathology support and specimen reception services to ensure efficient and high-quality pathology operations across Townsville Collection Services.

 

What you'll do

In this role you will perform phlebotomy across inpatient and outpatient settings, support specimen reception and clinical pathology workflows, undertake courier and laboratory support duties between sites, maintain competency across specimen collection procedures, contribute to staff training and education activities, participate in rostered shifts across a seven-day service, support quality and accreditation activities, and assist in maintaining efficient laboratory operations.

 

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Has experience in phlebotomy or specimen collection services
  • Has knowledge of specimen reception or clinical pathology processes
  • Can communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Can prioritise workloads and work independently when required
  • Has strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Can participate in shift, weekend and public holiday rosters
