About us:
We provide care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women or women with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children. We care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during pregnancy and the early weeks after birth.
About the role:
- Work with the midwife to provide high-quality woman centred care inclusive of cultural needs.
- Develop and provide health promotional/educational activities.
- Perform social and emotional screening along with screening for alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
- Work in a clinical setting within the scope of practice of an Advanced Health Worker.
- Assist the Midwife in providing culturally appropriate infant care assessments in the clinic, hospital and the home.
About you:
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires:
- Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply for this vacancy.
- Should the applicant be successful, employment will be at the no qualification paypoint until evidence of completion of the required qualification(s) is provided.

What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $9,816 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39.00 - $52.06 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
