Your new role:

As the Principal Medical Education Officer, you will play a key leadership role within the Medical Education Unit, supporting the delivery, development and continuous improvement of prevocational medical education programs and accreditation activities across Logan Hospital and Metro South Health by:

  • Providing expert advice on prevocational medical education, curriculum development, assessment and accreditation requirements
  • Supporting and advising junior doctors throughout their training, performance development and career planning
  • Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of medical education programs aligned with national frameworks and adult learning principles
  • Collaborating with clinical supervisors, universities and key stakeholders to strengthen training and supervision practices
  • Managing and monitoring accreditation documentation, reporting processes and educational resources
  • Supporting strategic planning, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives within the Medical Education Unit
  • Building strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to support high-quality training outcomes

About you:

You will be an experienced and collaborative education professional with a passion for developing future medical practitioners and improving medical education outcomes through:

  • Demonstrated expertise in prevocational medical education, accreditation, curriculum development and assessment
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and their practical application in clinical education settings
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, provide strategic advice and work autonomously
  • High level interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior doctors and clinical supervisors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training, or experience working within similar frameworks, will be highly regarded

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
