The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse Consultants (Child Protection Liaison Officer) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Utilise independent professional judgement in applying Queensland Health policy and legislative requirements
• Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) team
• Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills in child, youth and adolescent health in relation to child protection
• Support in aiding child protection clinics and forensic assessments

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time and Permanent part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
• Base salary ranging from $139,951 - $151,949 per annum or $70.58 - $76.63 per hour

About Us

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) role functions as a Child Protection Liaison Officer within the Child Protection Team which includes medical officers, social workers and administration offers to provide a multidisciplinary approach and response to complex child protection concerns / cases.

The Child Protection Team is located within Gold Coast University Hospital and works collaboratively with healthcare and non-healthcare partners to safeguard children in our care.
