Your new role:

As the Director, Employee Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to strengthen safety culture, wellbeing and compliance across Metro South Health.

  • Lead the development and delivery of organisation-wide health, safety and wellbeing strategies, systems and initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice to executive leadership and the Board on legislative obligations, emerging risks and safety performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Safety Management System aligned with Queensland Health and ISO 45001 frameworks.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across the organisation to deliver proactive, sustainable safety and wellbeing outcomes.

About you:

  • You are an influential and strategic leader with extensive experience driving workplace health, safety and wellbeing outcomes in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in health, safety and wellbeing governance, risk management and organisational compliance.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence executives and lead cultural change.
  • Proven ability to analyse data, manage complex issues and implement innovative improvement strategies.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and people leadership capability within large multidisciplinary organisations.
