Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $157,579 to $164,519 p.a. (Nurse Grade 8)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)
  • Plus great salary packaging options to increase take-home pay

About your opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join the high-performing Emergency Department team at Townsville University Hospital. In this advanced practice role, you will provide expert clinical care while delivering professional leadership across a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in driving best practice, supporting clinical excellence, and ensuring the delivery of patient-centred care. This is an ideal position for a clinician who thrives on challenge, values teamwork, and is passionate about improving patient outcomes.

Townsville Hospital's Emergency Department is a modern, 75-bed facility equipped to manage a broad range of presentations. The department features three resuscitation bays, a dedicated seven-bed paediatric assessment area, specialised treatment rooms for procedures such as plastering and suturing, and purpose-built spaces for ophthalmology/ENT, mental health, and obstetrics and gynaecology care.

With medical imaging located within the department, including plain x-ray and a dedicated CT scanner adjacent to the unit, you will have access to essential diagnostic resources at your fingertips. The co-located 16-bed Short Stay Unit further enhances patient flow and continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent relevant qualification 
  • Current registration with AHPRA with endorsement (or eligibility) as a Nurse Practitioner 
  • Ability to meet Townsville HHS credentialing requirements on commencement and every three years thereafter
