About the role:

  • Support the pharmacy team by taking on essential non‑professional and technical tasks that help maintain safe, efficient and high‑quality medication management across Gladstone Hospital.
  • Prepare prescriptions and non‑sterile products under the supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to established procedures.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory, maintain imprest systems across wards and clinics, rotate stock, monitor expiry dates and process returned medications in line with departmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate data entry, support the training of pharmacy support staff, contribute to quality improvement activities, and consistently uphold all relevant Queensland Health policies and legislative requirements.

About you:

  • You are willing to complete the imprest module of the Certificate III in Pharmacy Services, and while formal qualifications are not mandatory, any relevant pharmacy training will be highly regarded.
  • You are comfortable using computers and open to developing your skills further, including programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to support efficient pharmacy operations.
  • You work with care and initiative under the guidance of a registered Pharmacist, showing responsibility, strong organisation, and a developing understanding of pharmacy services, legislation, dispensing, and inventory processes.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, with the ability to engage respectfully with staff, patients and the wider community in both written and verbal formats.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $82,130 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $34.53 - $36.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
