Your new role:
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Crisis Support Space, you will provide advanced clinical leadership, specialist mental health expertise and operational oversight within a unique, recovery-oriented service supporting people experiencing mental health crisis, emotional distress or suicidal thoughts.
- Provide expert clinical assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, brief interventions and psychosocial support to individuals accessing the Crisis Support Space.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with peer workers, the Emergency Department, mental health services, consumers, carers and community partners to deliver safe, person-centred care.
- Drive service development, quality improvement and evaluation activities, contributing to innovative care pathways and enhanced outcomes for people experiencing mental health crises.
- Utilise advanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills to promote evidence-based practice, provide clinical supervision and support the delivery of a therapeutic, culturally safe and recovery-focused environment.
About you:
You are an experienced and compassionate mental health nursing professional who is passionate about recovery-oriented practice and committed to delivering exceptional care to people experiencing mental health distress.
- Registered Nurse with demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in mental health nursing, including comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention and risk management.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and support within multidisciplinary and peer-led service environments.
- Strong understanding of contemporary mental health practice, recovery frameworks, the Mental Health Act 2016 and evidence-based approaches to improving consumer outcomes.
- Highly developed communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to quality improvement, service innovation and person-centred care.
