Your new role:
As the Nurse Practitioner Candidate – EMHPCC, you will deliver advanced mental health and addiction nursing care within the Emergency Department while developing extended clinical practice skills under the supervision of an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Medical Officer. Working closely with emergency and mental health teams, you will help improve consumer outcomes through rapid assessment, intervention, care planning and service innovation.
- Deliver advanced mental health and addiction assessments, interventions and care planning in the Emergency Department.
- Work collaboratively with ED clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to support safe, timely and recovery-focused care.
- Develop extended clinical practice skills while completing an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's program.
- Contribute to education, quality improvement, research and contemporary models of emergency mental health care.
About you:
You are a compassionate and clinically skilled mental health nurse who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to delivering person-centred, evidence-based care.
- Currently enrolled in, or eligible to enrol in, an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's program.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills within complex clinical environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to support consumers, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
