The Cardiology Department at Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service is situated is a busy tertiary referral unit that provides diagnosis, consultation and intervention across all areas of cardiology.
It has a state-of-the-art echocardiography laboratory that performs transthoracic echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography (ESE/DSE) and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) in hospital inpatients and outpatients routinely, utilising new techniques such as contrast echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and myocardial deformation assessment.
The role will largely focus on participation in the performance and interpretation of all aspects of echocardiography. The successful applicant will also be involved in the cardiac MRI programme developing skills in acquisition of imaging, post-processing and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Performance, supervision, and reporting of transthoracic echocardiography.
- Supervision and reporting of exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography.
- Performance and reporting of transoesophageal echocardiography, including 3-D analytics and procedural studies.
- Performance and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies.
Salary rates: $5,155.00 - $7,189.50 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L4 - L13) (temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f.) for up to 12 months. Applications will remain current for 12 months / or the duration of the vacancy. Applications may be used to appoint to similar vacancies for a period up to 12 months after the closing date of the initial vacancy.
