The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Manager Environmental Health to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of environmental health service.
- Be responsible for the operational and resource management of the Environmental Health team.
- Delegate statutory responsibilities under public health legislations.
- Conceptualise and apply expert knowledge, judgement and strategic leadership.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from a recognised tertiary institution that is accredited by Environmental Health Australia or deemed eligible for appointment by the Queensland Health Environmental Health Officer Appointments Review Committee is a requirement for this role
- Drivers Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Full Time
- Base salary ranging from $161 540 – $167 217 per annum

Gold Coast Public Health Unit (GCPHU) has on site specialists with expertise in many areas including communicable disease control, immunisation, health surveillance, environmental health, research, water quality, risk assessment, food safety standards and public health regulation. GCPHU employs an multi-disciplinary team of staff including public health physicians, public health nurses, environmental health officers, health promotion officers, epidemiologists, data officers and business services staff delivering the integrated public health program.
