Your Opportunity
As the Manager, Contracts, you will:
- Manage the establishment of strategic and complex contracts across TAFE Queensland, Brisbane Region.
- Serve as a single point of contact for legal advice pertaining to contractual matters.
This position reports to the Executive Director, Business Innovation and Commercialisation.
This is a Temporary, Full-time opportunity, to 26 June 2027 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
- Manage and compile contracts from contract creation to execution. Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, contract management plan, risk management plan and organisational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and participate in scheduled contract initiation, review and closure meetings, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations, including educational audit compliance, are met.
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships and effectively manage contractual enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, risks and undertake negotiations with relevant stakeholders as required.
- Research and analyse contract related information and provide reports regarding contract activity, milestone achievement and performance.
- Understand the individual business unit models and cultures, identify business needs and adapt to build an efficient and sustainable contract management system.
- Lead the development of contract collateral including best practice frameworks, procedures and contract templates and provide advice to a broad range of stakeholders on contract management related matters to ensure the delivery of high quality services, encouraging consistency and a continuous improvement culture.
- Maintain currency of knowledge on compliance and risk frameworks, sales and procurement policies, delegations and the strategic agenda; and utilise this knowledge to make informed, consistent decisions that support business initiatives.
- Engage with all areas of TAFE Queensland Brisbane, TAFE Queensland, a panel of legal experts and external stakeholders, remain abreast of new business opportunities and revenue streams and attend networks and forums where required.
- Actively contribute to an environment that values performance, client service, continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategies and analysing outcomes as applied to contract management.
- Highly developed knowledge and skill in contract management, including stakeholder negotiation, legal consultation, risk identification and mitigation, contract initiation, milestone identification and monitoring to ensure successful contractual outcomes.
- High level written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes and resolve disputes.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders in order to gain commitment to agreed outcomes.
- High level attention to detail and demonstrated rigorous and systematic approach to record keeping
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
There are no mandatory requirements for this role.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Business or Law, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in contract management and a legal contract framework preferably in a commercial environment.
- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders in providing expert contract management advice to facilitate achievement of successful outcomes.
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement and innovation opportunities in processes to improve effectiveness an efficiency.
