You will lead and develop a skilled team while fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement. In addition, you will play an important statewide role by supporting the Medical Typing Pool, providing expert advice, analysing performance data and acting as a key point of contact for medical typing services across the network.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Medical/Histopathology terminology with excellent typing skills and knowledge of analogue and/or digital dictation systems.
  • Proven ability to perform administration support duties including medical typing, collation, storage and retrieval of diagnostic records and material, and manage communications with a diverse range of medical professionals.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership, supervision and communicate effectively to develop efficient teams that are adaptable to changing priorities throughout the working day, as well as medium and long term.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of how to prioritise work to meet the service delivery requirements of a complex and integrated tertiary referral anatomical pathology service.
  • Proven ability to identify, master and implement new technologies and concepts to maximise efficiencies.
  • Proven ability and skills to provide instruction and training to other staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of providing a client focused service.
