The role:
Reporting to the Portfolio Digital Lead, the Project Director is responsible for leading the planning and delivery of ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) across all Digital Capital Program (DCP) projects. This includes both greenfield and brownfield initiatives, ensuring safe, consistent, and timely implementation aligned with program objectives.
You will act as the key interface between the Digital Capital Program, Digital Health and Business Solutions (DHBS), Digital Health Solutions (DHS), and individual project teams, providing leadership and coordination to ensure a structured and consistent approach to ieMR deployment. The role is critical in establishing standardised planning, governance, and delivery frameworks that can be applied consistently across all DCP projects.
You will establish the end-to-end coordination of eHealth Queensland's (eHQ) response to each project's ieMR work package, ensuring dependencies are managed, risks are mitigated, and delivery remains aligned to agreed timeframes. The role requires strong program leadership, strategic oversight, and the ability to guide complex, multi-site ICT implementations within a healthcare environment.
Is this opportunity for you?
We are seeking an experienced Project Director with a strong track record in delivering large-scale, complex ICT programs, particularly involving ieMR or comparable digital clinical systems.
You will bring demonstrated experience in leading ieMR deployments, ideally within Queensland Health or similarly complex healthcare environments, with a strong understanding of clinical system integration, governance, and safe implementation practices.
You are a confident leader who can operate across multiple projects simultaneously, providing clear direction and ensuring alignment between diverse stakeholder groups including DCP, DHBS, DHS, and individual project teams. Your ability to establish consistent approaches, manage interdependencies, and drive coordinated delivery will be key to success in this role.
You will excel in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, with proven capability in program-level planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a focus on achieving safe, quality outcomes are essential.
Most importantly, you will be motivated by enabling successful digital transformation in healthcare and ensuring that ieMR is implemented safely, consistently, and effectively across all DCP projects.
