Principal Governance Officer - Projects

The Principal Governance Officer (Projects) supports the Manager, Governance Support and Advice, in the delivery of effective governance advice and will lead and implement identified corporate governance improvement projects. This role will work collaboratively as a key member of the Corporate Governance Services team, and with key stakeholders, to evaluate and support the effective delivery of corporate governance services to the department.

Your Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and high-level project management skills in the initiation, development, implementation and evaluation of projects addressing corporate governance priorities within agreed timeframes.
  • Use appropriate project management and change management methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Support the coordination and provision of expert advice on governance related matters.

  • Proven ability to positively engage, build and nurture productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; managing challenges with integrity, diplomacy, tact and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated high level leadership skills and ability to provide high level accurate and timely advice on complex issues and managing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including experience confidently and clearly negotiating and presenting complex concepts and advice to internal and external stakeholders to positively influence and guide.
