Your new role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Service at Logan Hospital, delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care within a multidisciplinary mental health team.

  • Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment, intervention, evaluation and discharge planning services for consumers within the Adult Acute Psychiatric Unit.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, acting as a key clinical resource and contributing to complex clinical decision-making and patient-centred care.
  • Lead and support service development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.
  • Provide supervision, education and support to junior clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants while contributing to a positive learning culture.

About you:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist who is passionate about mental health care and committed to delivering high-quality clinical services in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex occupational therapy services within a mental health setting, including assessment, intervention, prioritisation and discharge planning.
  • Highly developed communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and manage challenging situations professionally.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and support to less experienced clinicians, students and support staff.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, with experience contributing to quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice initiatives.
