Your new role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Pharmacist – Antimicrobial Stewardship to join our Pharmacy Department on a permanent part-time basis. In this specialist role, you will deliver high-quality antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and clinical pharmacy services across Logan and Beaudesert Health Service, working closely with infectious diseases specialists, pharmacists, medical officers and multidisciplinary teams to optimise antimicrobial use and improve patient outcomes. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and antimicrobial governance while providing expert clinical advice and leadership within a highly collaborative healthcare environment.
- Participate in antimicrobial assurance rounds and support stewardship activities across the health service.
- Provide expert clinical advice to pharmacists, medical officers, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on antimicrobial stewardship outcomes, audits and key performance indicators.
About you:
You are an experienced hospital pharmacist with a strong passion for antimicrobial stewardship and improving the quality use of medicines. You thrive in collaborative healthcare environments and are confident providing specialist clinical advice, driving quality improvement initiatives and supporting the development of others.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based antimicrobial prescribing and medicines management principles.
- Ability to manage complex clinical workloads and exercise sound clinical judgement independently.
- Experience contributing to quality improvement, audit, research or service development activities.
- Proven ability to mentor, supervise and support pharmacists, students and support staff.
