About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol-related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchment with a population total exceeding 250,000) with services located in each area. 

Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016 and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities. In addition, there is an Adult Step-Up Step-Down facility located in Gladstone and an Adult Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

About the role:

  • Provide support to the Inpatient Unit by assisting with the completion of a range of administrative duties including but not limited to compilation and management of patient admission papers, clinical notes, private claim forms, billing, and collation of statistical data and reports.
  • Consult with patients to obtain correct details for completion of admissions, including Patient Election Form processing, ensuring information is recorded accurately.
  • Work processes, meeting secretariat functions, organising meeting venues and catering, building management duties, incident reports, and travel arrangements.
  • Being the first point of contact for visitors arriving on the ward, answering the phone, booking appointments, maintaining clinical information systems, and staff support. 

About you:

  • Comprehensive skills and experience in providing a broad range of administrative and business support services to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Exercise judgement and initiative to resolve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been established and procedures have not been defined, ensuring a satisfactory outcome is achieved.
  • Proven ability to act as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Well-developed communication skills to provide an administrative support function to a multidisciplinary team within a challenging environment.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $100,585 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
