About the role
The Senior Health Information Manager – Activity Based Funding (ABF) role provides exposure to a broad scope of responsibilities across clinical coding, activity-based funding, and management of health information in a digital facility. The successful incumbent will actively contribute to a team environment dedicated to ABF tasks, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation, and engage in quality improvement activities' to harness skills in a supportive environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Self-manage continuous knowledge of clinical coding, activity-based funding, and performance monitoring including new developments, legislation, and industry standards.
- Participate in the Coder-Clinician Liaison (CCL) program to identify inadequate documentation and missed SNAP opportunities and resolve through clinician engagement.
- Participate in designing clinical documentation improvements including development and delivery of education and resources for targeted stakeholder groups.
- Participate in ABF optimisation activities through targeted Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) reviews and a wide variety of coding audits for data quality improvement purposes.
- Participate in release of information activities to acquire knowledge of legislation and timeframes.
