The role

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) within the Nursing and Midwifery Staffing Team (NMST) provides flexible clinical support across acute and non‑acute units within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. NMST ENs are primarily utilised to fill emergent leave through daily shift‑to‑shift allocations.

NMST ENs are supported through a collaborative model involving Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Services Clinical Nurses and local unit clinical leads.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • Highly Desirable: Demonstrated ability to providedirect patient care within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practicewith recent clinical experience/practice within the past 12-24 months.
  • Shift Availability: This casual position offers opportunities to work across a variety of 24/7 shift types.

  • Salary range: $47.41 - $50.31 p.h. (casual rate) (NG3)
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Locality and Uniform allowance
  • Plus great Salary Sacrificing options to increase take-home pay, available for long term casual staff

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred nursing care under the delegation of the registered nurse/midwife.
  • Work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
  • Use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
  • Own ongoing professional development.
