Role details
The Oral Health Team at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a First Nation Trainee Dental Assistant to join their team on a 12 month Traineeship.
Identified Role

Your opportunity
Working as part of the dental team at Mackay Base Hospital as a First Nations Dental Trainee, you'll be immersed in the day-to-day operations of dental care – observing and gradually assisting in the delivery of high-quality services to eligible patients across our facilities.
Under the guidance of the Dental Assistant-Clinical Lead, you'll gain practical experience in instrument reprocessing, including cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising dental tools in strict alignment with Infection Control Standard Operating Procedures and the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard 3.
About the Team
Mackay Oral Health have permanent clinics in Mackay, Proserpine and Bowen with outreach services to Sarina, Collinsville and Clermont. All clinics have recently been refurbished with modern equipment and adheres to strict standards. We are a training facility for James Cook University with final year dental student placements in Mackay and Proserpine. We deliver high quality services to eligible adult patients as well as school children through school dental services.
