Our friendly and highly skilled team delivers medical oncology, haematology, and radiation oncology services in partnership with Genesis Care in Rockhampton, while also supporting communities in Gladstone, Theodore, Biloela and Emerald. About the role:

  • Deliver advanced, patient-centred oncology care while progressively building your clinical capability toward Nurse Practitioner endorsement and an expanded scope of practice.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and management using advanced clinical reasoning to inform treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and the safe, effective use of medicines within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate closely with a designated clinical mentor and senior medical staff, strengthening your skills through practical experience, ongoing learning, and the application of evidence-based care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Contribute to service excellence beyond direct clinical care by engaging in education, research, quality improvement, and leadership initiatives that support and enhance cancer care delivery.

About you:

  • You are a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), currently enrolled in or eligible to enrol in a recognised Masters program leading to Nurse Practitioner endorsement within an agreed timeframe.
  • You bring demonstrated clinical expertise, ideally within a medical oncology setting, with the ability to apply contemporary nursing knowledge, legislation, standards and evidence-based practice to deliver safe, high-quality care.
  • You are an effective communicator and emerging leader, with strong skills in clinical decision-making, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management, enabling you to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You are committed to continuous learning and professional growth, with the ability to support education, clinical teaching, and quality improvement initiatives, while contributing to a culture of excellence and evidence-based practice across the service.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $86,683 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
