About the Team
The Centre for Children's Health Research (CCHR), co-located with the Queensland Children's Hospital, is Queensland's first fully integrated research facility focused on child and adolescent health research and services. The CCHR is designed to place Queensland at the forefront of child and adolescent health research. It, for the first time, brings dedicated paediatric researchers together under one roof. The goal is to create a critical mass of expertise and specialist knowledge focused on translating research findings into better care for Queensland children and their families.
While the facility houses more than 450 researchers, its design allows for expansion and growth to ensure the needs of Queensland's children's health research are met now and in the future. Researchers have access to four levels of research space in the CCHR (levels 5-8) including wet and dry laboratories. Research and education at CHQ HHS is vital in ensuring the best possible health outcomes for children and young people are met now and in the future.
Through grants, partnerships, government funding and the children's hospital foundation we are able to invest in research to help find the answers to a range of child and adolescent health issues.
