About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to play a vital role in supporting Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Social Workers in providing rehabilitation services to clients living in Metro North. You will support clients to achieve their goals, maintain independence, and improve their quality of life within their own homes and communities.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide effective Clinical Assistant support to the Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Social worker and Leisure Therapist by providing therapies delegated by the professional staff member in accordance with the care plan
- Participate in information gathering for assessment under the guidance of treating health professional, including independent administration of screening tools (e.g. 6 minute walk test).
- Work with clients, their families and carers to carry out functional daily activities identified in the client's rehabilitation plan and support community access.
- Provide appropriate and timely feedback to the treating health professionals regarding rehabilitation plans.
- Assist in the supply of, instruction and monitoring of clients using prescribed equipment as appropriate, including review of minor home modifications.
