About the Team
- The Child Health Service (CHS) provides universal, multidisciplinary primary community health care services for children from birth to 8 years who reside in the catchment area for the Child and Youth Community Health Service (CYCHS), CHQ. The service seeks to achieve positive early childhood health and development outcomes through surveillance and monitoring of child growth and development and addressing family areas of concern using an early intervention, relationship-based framework, to reduce and minimize the impact of risk factors and strengthen parents/carers' capacity to support their child's ongoing health and development needs.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Provide targeted individual, couple and group interventions on a short-to-medium term basis and using the principles of family-centred care, predominately with the parent/caregiver(s) but focused on the child in the context of referred families that that access the Child Health Service (CHS), Child and Youth Community Health Service.
- Partner with families to facilitate goal-directed, resource-efficient and evidence-based interventions that seek to enhance care-giving capacity through reduction or improvement in factors that influence parental functioning and the determinants of child health.
- Establish, communicate and document a thorough understanding and formulation of biological, psychological and socio-emotional factors related to the child and their family to inform multidisciplinary clinical parenting interventions related to parental adjustment, parenting and parent-child relationships and behaviour management
