Your Opportunity
As the Executive Assistant, you will:
- Provide high level and confidential business, administrative and executive support services to an Executive Director ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of TAFE Queensland, Brisbane Region as a commercial business.
This position reports to the Manager, Executive Services.
This is a Temporary, Part-time (0.8FTE) 12 month opportunity, from 25 August 2026 until 27 August 2027 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at South Brisbane however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
• Work as part of an executive support team, prioritising tasks and managing time commitments to effectively and efficiently meet objectives for and on behalf of senior management.
• Provide high level and confidential business, administrative and executive support services to the Executive in relation to administrative, human resource, financial, governance, policy and operational matters.
• Manage executive correspondence, including the preparation and coordination of briefings, responses to correspondence, submissions, meeting papers, reports, submissions and strategic planning, budgeting and reporting documents.
• Undertake research on behalf of the Executive on matters relating to the strategic direction of the portfolio and prepare reports and recommendations for consideration by the Executive.
• Establish and maintain effective communications and professional working relationships with a broad range of internal and external clients and stakeholders including business, industry and the community at an operational level.
• Assist the Executive Services Manager to develop and implement executive business systems, processes, procedures and guidelines to support the effective and efficient functioning of the Executive Services team.
• Effectively manage the day to day activities of the Executive’s office including the coordination and preparation of information and reports that align with business operations.
• Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
• Participate in other activities as required.

- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, confidential advice and executive support to an Executive Director in a rapidly changing and competitive multi-disciplinary business environment.
- High level communication skills and the ability to formulate recommendations and coordinate and prepare a variety of correspondence responses.
- Ability to negotiate with stakeholders, build and sustain productive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively to achieve commercial business outcomes for the organisation.
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling of behaviours and the provision of outstanding client service.

Highly Desirable Requirements
- Qualifications in business or a related discipline.
