About us:
The Cardiac Investigations Unit (CIU) and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (CCL) at Cairns Hospital provide tertiary cardiac services, including coronary intervention and specialised electrophysiology. Within a multidisciplinary team, the CIU delivers diagnostic and monitoring procedures such as echocardiography, stress testing, ECG monitoring, haemodynamic support, CIED procedures, and cardioversion. The EP laboratory provides advanced rhythm management, including device implantation, electrophysiology studies, and ablation, supported by 3D mapping technologies.

About your role:
- Deliver routine cardiac investigations services within well-established clinical protocols in the Cardiac Investigation Unit including but not limited to 12 lead Electrocardiographs, Application and analysis of Holter and Event Monitors, Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Cardiac Exercise Stress Testing and Haemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterisation.
- Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to work experience students, or those involved in observational clinical placements as well as direction to assistant and support staff.
- Work cooperatively and effectively within the team and with patients/clients.
- Participate in clinical research and professional development activities.
