About the Team
The Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH) and Early Intervention (EI) aims to support parents, caregivers and communities to have the confidence, knowledge, skills and resources to support their own wellbeing and raise emotionally healthy and resilient children. QCPIMH and EI brings perinatal and infant mental health needs to the attention of policy and decision makers, and the general community, to improve the emotional wellbeing of all families.
QCPIMH and EI has clinical and strategic units. The Zero to Four CYMHS delivers infant mental health multidisciplinary clinical services to the north and south Brisbane and Pine Rivers CHQ CYMHS catchment area. A volunteer Family Support Service provides early years family support to families where there is a risk of children entering or re-entering the child protection system. Head to Health Kids provides free mental health and wellbeing support for children up to 12 years, with developmental, behavioural, and, or emotional challenges. The Strategy Unit works to strengthen the state-wide Queensland perinatal and infant mental health service system, by building cross sector networks across public, private, non-government, peer led, First Nations, education, and research organisations.
