Your new role:

This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality administrative and reception support within a busy Emergency Department, ensuring patients, visitors and clinical teams receive exceptional service and assistance. You will:

  • Act as a key point of contact for patients, families, ambulance officers, police and members of the public, providing professional reception and enquiry services.
  • Support medical and nursing staff through a broad range of administrative functions, including admissions, patient records management, data entry and documentation processing.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges while maintaining accurate information within hospital systems.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Emergency Department through switchboard services, health records administration, and after-hours support functions.

About you:

We're looking for a customer-focused and adaptable administration professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment and is committed to delivering high-quality service. You have:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with empathy, patience and professionalism when dealing with a diverse range of patients and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively, maintain confidentiality and build positive working relationships.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise competing tasks, work autonomously and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with experience using information systems, databases and administrative software, together with a commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.

About Bayside Health Service

The Bayside Health Services is the primary provider of public hospital services to southern bayside suburbs of Brisbane City and includes:

  • Redland Hospital – a 188 bed acute secondary teaching hospital
  • Wynnum Primary Care Centre – Gundu Pa – a 24-hour Primary Care Clinic, Oral Health, Allied Health including Child Development Services, Addiction and Mental Health Services and Breast Screen Australia.
  • Marie Rose Centre – a Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) level one, 24-hour primary emergency care clinic located on North Stradbroke Island
