In this varied role, you will utilise your medical typing expertise to accurately transcribe electronic and handwritten medical reports into the laboratory information system, ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. You will also contribute to statewide service delivery through participation in the State-wide Medical Typing Pool.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organisation and external agencies.
- Organisational skills and the ability to use initiative, delegate and be adaptable when performing or administering tasks in a constantly changing and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to establish, manage and maintain office systems and databases. High level skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, to accurately complete and prioritize work and to be flexible and dynamic in a highly client focused environment.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience in medical typing.
