About the Team
The Children's Health Queensland Child Development Service (CHQ CDS) is a family-centred, specialist public health service for children who have complex developmental needs. The purpose of the CHQ CDS is to support families and key stakeholders in the child's life (such as their General Practitioner, Child Health Nurse, or Indigenous Health Service) to develop a comprehensive understanding of the child's developmental profile (both in terms of their strengths and difficulties) and how this relates to their functioning and participation in everyday life. CHQ CDS uses strengths based, partnership approaches to enable families, key stakeholders and community providers to best support the child's optimal development, health and wellbeing across the life course.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of child development specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.

There are 2 roles available from this vacancy. 1 x fixed term, part-time role for 6 months of 38 hours a fortnight a the Queensland Children's Hospital, 1 x fixed term, full-time role for 6-12 months in Central Brisbane area.
There may also be other CN opportunities within CDP across greater Brisbane area from this recruitment pool.
