Join a collaborative healthcare environment where CQHHS's multidisciplinary team of specialist medical, nursing and allied health professionals works alongside General Practitioners (GPs) to deliver high-quality consultation and treatment services to the Rockhampton community.
Our Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment. The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transfer patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.
About the role:
- Provide essential administrative and clerical support for patient admissions, inpatient stays, and discharges in a busy healthcare environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and compassion.
- Manage patient records, admissions documentation, billing processes, clinical information systems, and departmental reporting with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Coordinate a range of operational activities, including meetings, travel arrangements, supplies, records management, and general departmental administration.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, prioritising workloads, supporting colleagues, and ensuring compliance with Queensland Health policies and procedures.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in reception and administrative support, with strong keyboard, data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet skills.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to manage complex situations while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to use initiative and make informed decisions to deliver efficient telecommunication, customer service, and administrative support.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and computerised information systems, with a collaborative approach to supporting team success and improving daily operations.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $3,352 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
