About your opportunity
Position: Clinical Nurse
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary part-time hours, 64 hours p.f. from 29/06/2026 up to 27/06/2027
Location: Operating Theatres (Paediatrics), Townsville University Hospital
What's on offer?
- Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

About the role
In this role you will provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for training and mentoring of new staff in Paediatric surgery. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the ordering and maintenance of clinical supplies and equipment and the maintaining the efficiency of the theatre.
Role requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- On-call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call
