What your day could look like
As Nurse Unit Manager, you'll play a vital role in strengthening care delivery for patients and residents across Miles Health Service and associated aged care services. From guiding clinical decisions to leading a capable, compassionate team, you'll help create a safe, high-performing environment where people receive the care they need, close to home.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care that improves patient and resident outcomes
- Shaping service performance by managing resources, budgets and workforce priorities to meet community needs
- Driving quality and safety initiatives that lift standards and support continuous improvement
- Coaching and mentoring staff to build capability, confidence and a positive team culture
Let's talk about you!
You're a confident and compassionate leader who brings both clinical expertise and strategic thinking to your work. You know how to guide teams through complexity, balance priorities and foster a culture where people feel supported to grow. You take pride in improving health outcomes and creating environments where safe, person-centred care thrives every day.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Strong leadership experience in healthcare, including team and resource management
- Advanced clinical knowledge with a focus on evidence-based practice and quality improvement
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence and lead change
You'll stand out if you have experience in rural or aged care settings and/or postgraduate qualifications in health management or a clinical specialty.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—helping shape care that truly makes a difference.
