Your new role:
This Senior Social Worker role delivers advanced, evidence-based social work services across Redland Hospital's Medical and Surgical Wards, with exposure to a broad range of acute and specialist areas including ICU, ED, maternity, paediatrics and residential care settings. You will undertake complex assessments, risk management, intervention and discharge planning while working as a key clinical reference point within a highly functioning interprofessional team. The role also plays a pivotal part in service improvement, clinical education and quality initiatives, while providing supervision and guidance to less experienced clinicians, students and support staff.
About you:
You are an experienced and confident Social Worker who thrives in complex acute hospital environments, bringing strong clinical judgement, collaborative practice and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care across diverse clinical settings. You will have:
- Proven experience delivering advanced social work services in acute hospital settings
- Strong capability in complex assessment, risk management, discharge planning and intervention
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, support and develop less experienced clinicians and students
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, service improvement and culturally responsive care

The Social Work Department is a dynamic, collaborative team providing comprehensive clinical social work services across Redland Hospital and Redland Residential Care within Bayside Health Service, supporting both inpatient and outpatient care.
The team is also part of Metro South Health's commitment to advancing healthcare through translational research, including building research capability through training and education, strengthening research finance processes, and promoting strong ethics, governance and research engagement across the service.
