About your opportunity

Provide the effective and timely coordination of finance and business support functions enabling business continuity and success through quality assurance in the form of valuable and ethical compliance and governance, assisting management's decision-making processes. 

The role is also required to assist the Service Group to coordinate and manage financial, human and other resources, procurement and contract management processes for the Service Group.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in the health industry (or other complex industry) in supporting the development of concise information and documentation for decision by senior officers, including, but not limited to: briefing papers, concept briefs, business cases and financial and activity reports.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the interpretation, and application of contemporary financial management, human resource and procurement legislation, policies and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to report and interpret financial and activity related data, while particularly identifying cost drivers and exceptions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the interpretation, and application of contemporary financial management, human resource and procurement legislation, policies and frameworks.
  • High level analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and analyse financial and activity data, while particularly identifying cost divers and exceptions, develop solutions to complex problems and provide high quality advice.
  • Proven effective consultative, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with internal and external senior management and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement business improvement initiatives, resolve problems and work autonomously to achieve organisational goals including experience in or the demonstrated ability to identify service needs to development budgets, plan and procurement of goods and services, support strategic and operational goals in a complex multi-disciplinary environment of organisation change, evolution and expansion.
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff in line with quality human resource management practices with particular reference to the Queensland Health Code of Conduct, employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour, support team members to develop skills and knowledge to build the capacity and capability of a Unit to deliver an effective finance/business service in a changing business environment.

  • Salary range: $4791.30 to $5132.30 p.f. (AO6)
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • 4  weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

Requirements:

  • Highly Desirable: While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification in business would be highly regarded.
