Your new role:
As a Nurse Practitioner in our Cardiology Department, you will use your advanced practice skills to provide, coordinate, and streamline comprehensive care for patients with chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and acute coronary syndrome.
- Autonomous Advanced Practice: Work with a clear authority for an extended nursing scope of practice, making high-level clinical decisions to assess, diagnose, treat, and refer complex cardiac patients.
- Expert Clinical Interventions: Perform holistic health assessments, interpret diagnostic pathology and radiology, and prescribe medications in alignment with the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019.
About you:
We are looking for an expert clinical leader who aligns with the NMBA Nurse Practitioner Standards for Practice and thrives in a rapidly changing, collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
- Advanced Clinical Expert: You possess deep, evidence-based specialist knowledge in the field of cardiology, with a proven track record in extended physical examination and evaluating interventional therapies.
- A High-Level Communicator: You bring exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and consultation skills, allowing you to partner seamlessly with medical registrars, cardiologists, and nursing directors.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
