Identified Role:
Under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement that the incumbent is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Your role in community wellbeing

Work within a specialist Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs (AODS) team to support prevention, early intervention and ongoing care for people experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. You will provide culturally appropriate, recovery-focused care, education and advocacy in partnership with community and government services, with a strong focus on community wellbeing and the first 2000 days for families.

This is a community-connected role where your work supports people across the life span, using a harm reduction and recovery-focused approach.

As an Indigenous Health Worker, your cultural knowledge, lived experience and advocacy play a vital role in ensuring care is safe, respectful and responsive for Torres and Cape communities. Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, your connection to community strengthens the care you provide and ensures your voice is valued in service delivery.

This role also offers the opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in close-knit communities, with support to build your skills, strengthen your practice and contribute to services that respond to real community needs.
