Allied Health Assistant

The position of Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will support and assist the staff of the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS) in the provision of clinical and operational support for children within the Queensland Children’s Hospital and provide administrative and organisational support for QPRS. Clinical Program/Service areas where the AHA will be required, include: Day Rehabilitation, Inpatient and Outpatients.

About the Team
The Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service, Children's Health Queensland, is a Specialist Rehabilitation Medicine Service which operates under a statewide model and includes:
- Neurorehabilitation Programs
- Limb Difference Program
- Cerebral Palsy Health (CP Health)
- Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework; the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Support
- Work cooperatively and effectively in the QPRS team under the direction of more senior staff, to deliver rehabilitation clinical support services to assist in the provision of efficient and effective service to patient and families including patient therapy, hydrotherapy, low tech Gait Laboratory, patient transport, equipment management and group programs.
- Provide a defined range of clinical screening assessments and interventions for patients (individual and/or group interventions) with complex needs as delegated by health professionals.
Resource Development/Technology
- Contribute to the development, and evaluation of information packages and resources using a number of computer software programs including activities such as:
- Designing and producing information sheets and other resources.
- Editing audiovisual material for professional and educational purposes.
