About your opportunity

The purpose of the Occupational Violence Clinical Safety Coordinator - Response to Occupational Violence Emergencies (ROVE) is to provide a rapid clinical response to occupational violence emergencies in the TUH inpatient units (excluding Mental Health inpatient units) in collaboration with the Health Security Officer (HSO) personnel. This senior clinician delivers, expert, patient-centred consultation in response to occupational violence emergencies, contributing to direct and indirect patient care provision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary health care team.  The Occupational Violence Clinical Safety Coordinator will support the application of the principles of best practice interventions and leadership to ensure safe practice and high-quality outcomes in the management of occupational violence across the organisation with the goal to recognise, prevent and respond to occupational violence in the clinical setting.

PLEASE NOTE - There are multiple permanent part-time positions available, with hours negotiable (but not exceeding 64 hours per fortnight).

About the Department

The ROVE position is part of the Patient Flow Support Unit and is a 24/7 position that will provide a collaborative clinical response to occupational violence emergencies with the assistance of the HSO team.  The position provides their expertise to prevent harm through early support and assitance with the management of care planning of patients suffering from behavioural distrubances.  When an occupational violence risk is immiment or in progress the Occupational Violence Clinical Safety Coordinator - Response to Occupational Violence Emergencies (ROVE) will provide a clinical response and lead the occupational violence management inteventions with HSOs utilising the occupational violence legilstaion and framework. The position also offers post incident support to staff, patients and families when required

  • Salary range: $70.58 to $76.63 p.h. (NG7)

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
